Taxes You Must Register For

If you’re starting a business with employees in Florida, you are required to register for:

  • Florida Reemployment Tax (also known as State Unemployment Insurance Tax)
Florida does not impose a state income tax

Tax Agency: Florida Department of Revenue (DOR)

Tax Type: Reemployment Tax (SUI/UI)


➤ Registration Methods

Option 1: Register Online

    1. Go to the Florida Business Tax Application: https://taxapps.floridarevenue.com/taxregistration
    2. Click “Create New User Profile”
    3. Enter your username, email address, and password
    4. Complete and submit the online registration form

Once approved, you will be issued a Florida Reemployment Tax Account Number


Option 2: Register by Mail or In Person

  1. Download and complete Form DR-1 – Florida Business Tax Application
  2. Submit the form:

Once your business is registered, you will receive your Florida Reemployment Tax Number

Update your Check account with this number to ensure accurate payroll processing
